This in home newborn photoshoot with Linh and Alex felt especially meaningful for me. I photographed them during their maternity session at Cream Creative Space, so getting to see them again once baby Lyla arrived felt like such a full circle moment! Because lifestyle newborn sessions are all about real life, we kept everything simple and relaxed. Instead of bringing a bunch of props or setups, we focused on documenting the quiet moments happening right inside their home. Meanwhile, soft window light filled the nursery and bedroom, which created the dreamiest setting for photos.
At the same time, Lyla was about one month old during this session, which is honestly such a sweet stage for newborn photos. She was still tiny, still sleepy, and still fitting perfectly in her parents’ arms. So while the session unfolded, we captured little things that parents always want to remember later. Tiny hands curled up while sleeping. Soft yawns. The way she melted into Linh’s chest. Those little details always end up being the moments families treasure the most!

An in home newborn photoshoot has such a different energy compared to a studio session. Because families are already comfortable in their own space, the photos naturally feel more relaxed and personal. For example, Linh and Alex cuddled up on the couch while holding Lyla, which created such a calm and intimate moment. Then later, we moved into the nursery where the soft afternoon light poured through the windows. Meanwhile, Alex held Lyla close while Linh leaned in to watch her, which created one of my favorite frames from the session.
What I love most about these sessions is how naturally everything unfolds. Babies take breaks. Parents cuddle. Sometimes everyone just pauses and watches the baby sleep. Because of that slower pace, the photos feel authentic rather than posed. And honestly, those real moments always tell the story best!

The early weeks of parenthood pass so quickly. One minute your baby is brand new and fits perfectly in your arms, and then suddenly they are growing out of those tiny outfits. Because of that, an in home newborn photoshoot becomes more than just a photo session. It becomes a way to remember what life looked like during this fleeting season.
For Linh and Alex, this meant documenting the quiet mornings at home with Lyla. It meant capturing her sleepy stretches and tiny expressions. And most importantly, it meant freezing these first memories as a new family of three. Years from now, these photos will remind them exactly what those early days felt like. And that is always my favorite part of newborn photography!
