One of the best parts about getting engaged, along with getting to be with the LOYL, is the beautiful photos you get to take celebrating the occasion. Engagement photos are the time to celebrate with your partner, and really soak in this beautiful moment as you take your next step in your journey towards forever. When Thao and Huy envisioned their Portland engagement, they wanted to lean towards something more editorial and modern. We also wanted to incorporate a little bit of our beautiful city of Portland, Oregon into the mix. Thus creating these gorgeous Downtown Portland Oregon Modern Engagement Photos.

For Thao and Huy’s engagement photos, we really wanted to stick with a more modern and editorial look. One of my favorite ways to achieve this look is inside one of my favorite studios here in Portland. I’ve photographed many portrait sessions in this Portland studio, you can check out another session here. Studio engagement photos give you the opportunity to work with a blank canvas and really turn your engagement photos into whatever you want them to be.

Thao and Huy wore very elegant and timeless attire, a classic and simple white dress and a spiffed-out tux. While these love birds definitely nailed down the smoldering look, their smiles, and laughter shined throughout their entire Portland engagement session.

Shortly after finishing up in the studio, we headed to the streets of Downtown Portland, Oregon to get some more candid moments with the newly engaged couple. Wandering around the streets of Downtown Portland can be a great way to change your backdrop and get creative. We’re able to incorporate a ton of movement as we walk through some of Portland’s iconic beauties and landmarks. This was hands-down one of my favorite parts of Thao and Huy’s Downtown Portland Oregon modern engagement photos and I’m completely head over heels in love!
