Dakota and Nicolas were such a great couple to work with! They are both so much fun and I loved their vision for their day. These two wanted their day to be edgy and bold while keeping things neutral and timeless. When I asked them what they envisioned for their day they said “ To party hard!! Everyone has been waiting so long to finally celebrate and be together. I want everyone to let loose.” Their bridal party was awesome and one of the biggest that I shot in 2021!

Dakota and Nicolas had a civil wedding during the pandemic but this was the big night they were waiting for to celebrate with all their family and friends. They kept their ceremony short and sweet and danced the night away with their guests. The most important thing for them when having their wedding celebration was to have a party with good music and unlimited booze. They definitely delivered that.

Open Space Portland Wedding Venue – Castaway Portland

When D + N told me they were holding their wedding at Castaway Portland, I was so excited! This Portland wedding venue is perfect for anyone’s day with nearly 10,000 square feet of open space! The steel pane windows, polished concrete floor, and exposed wood beams create the perfect base for any wedding day. Huge windows covering the venue space brought in the prettiest light and as a Portland Wedding Photographer, I love to soak in all the sunshine!

Edgy & Bold Wedding Decor

After getting to know Dakota and Nicolas, I knew that their style would come through beautifully in their decor at their Castaway Portland Wedding! The florals were a huge focal point in their wedding decor. Selva Floral did an amazing job with the floral arrangements and floral installations. For their indoor ceremony, they kept things simple so the focus was on the floral ceremony backdrop. They incorporated dried floral with fresh florals and the most gorgeous color palette! I am still swooning over it all!

For their reception, they did bench-style seating. The table settings incorporated vintage glassware, terracotta colors, and gold details. Every detail was thought through and intentional throughout their whole wedding day! I am obsessed with how everything turned out & could not think of a better day for Dakota and Nicolas! I am so grateful to have been a part of their Castaway Portland Wedding!
