They had their Asian heritage wedding at Black Pearl on The Columbia in Washougal, WA and it was amazing! It was such a heartfelt experience for everyone in attendance.

Marissa and Eric treated their guests to an unforgettable cocktail hour. They served a selection of Asian-inspired foods, including dim sum, BBQ pork buns, and sweet egg tarts that had everyone raving. The highlight of the day was their traditional tea ceremony held during cocktail hour. The guests were able to witness and engage in a a significant cultural moment! The care Marissa and Eric took to include their heritage in the details created an experience that felt both authentic and deeply personal.
A Vibrant Celebration in Washington
One of the most exciting moments of the night was the couple’s grand entrance! They were accompanied by the White Lotus Foundation team performing an energetic Lion Dance. It was so mesmerizing and set the tone for an evening filled with so much joy and celebration. Marissa later changed into a stunning cheongsam – a traditional Chinese dress – during the reception, paying homage to her roots while keeping the party vibe alive.
Marissa’s love for plants was evident in the lush, tropical-inspired ceremony backdrop she envisioned. Instead of opting for traditional florals, the couple rented vibrant greenery which completely transformed their venue. It was the perfect complement to the modern Asian heritage wedding day. Adding to the beauty of the even was their intentionality in hiring a fully BIPOC vendor crew, which made the day even more meaningful!
