From the very first moment, this wedding in Seoul felt personal in a way that stays with you. Lauren and James chose to celebrate in Seoul, Korea because it carried meaning for them and because it allowed their closest people to truly be present. As soon as I arrived, I felt the quiet magic of a destination day where nothing felt rushed. Instead, everything slowed down and that set the tone for a celebration rooted in intention!
I have known Lauren since the very beginning of my photography career. Back in 2015, our friendship started in the most unexpected way after I offered a stranger on Instagram a place to stay. She took me up on it, showed up, and we became friends instantly. So when she reached out and asked me to document her wedding in Seoul, I felt excited and nervous all at once! Korea had been on my bucket list for years, and getting to experience it while photographing a friend’s wedding truly felt unreal.

Choosing a wedding in Seoul creates space for heritage, storytelling, and connection. Lauren and James are both Korean, so celebrating in Seoul allowed them to honor their roots while sharing that experience with friends who traveled from afar. Because the guest list was small, every interaction mattered. You could see it in the way guests lingered during conversations and reacted with genuine emotion during the ceremony.
The venue set the mood immediately. Rakkojae Hanok feels tucked away from the city’s buzz, even though it sits right in Seoul. The architecture, the courtyard, and the soft natural light created a calm atmosphere that encouraged everyone to stay present.

Throughout the day, there were so many quiet moments that stood out. Guests whispered how peaceful the space felt. Friends shared stories while sipping tea. Lauren took a breath before the ceremony and smiled in that way that said, “This is exactly right.” As a photographer, I leaned into that rhythm. I focused on letting moments unfold naturally rather than directing too much, because the setting invited authenticity.

If you are dreaming of a wedding in Seoul that feels intimate, intentional, and deeply personal, I would love to be there with you! Whether you are planning a destination celebration or honoring your roots, documenting these moments is what I care about most. Reach out and let’s talk about capturing your story in a way that feels true to you!
