Hey babes, let’s be real here…
who doesn’t love a moody engagement session? The morning of this engagement, Jeffy and I drove out to Government Camp to meet up with the sweetest darn couple ever, Katie & Adam. K & A wanted their engagement photos to be outside in nature, they love hiking and spending time with their family exploring the wonderful Pacific North West. In fact, Katie thought why not do it in Welches, Oregon which is about 20 mins away from Government Camp, Oregon.
The reason why K chose this location is because, Katie grew up in Welches. K & A visit here quite often because her parents still lives out here. We met up at a grocery outlet call, Thriftway. From there, Jeffy and I followed Katie & Adam into Welches, where we parked our cars near a road just steps away from a hidden hike trail. Katie prepped us with some classic rose, (heck yes, my type of gal) as we hiked down to a little creek and into a forest. I was amazed by the surroundings. There were tall trees covered in moss and the smell of crisp fresh air. We had so much fun just shooting around getting to know more about one another.
After spending about 35 mins here, Katie and Adam jokingly suggested to head to their favorite dive-bar. I said, are you kidding me? We have to! Why not?! I love to make my sessions more personal for my couples, something more sentimental and meaningful and different than the rest of the sessions i do.
We finally arrived to Skybar, the same place Adam popped the big question. This quirky restaurant was 10 minutes away from our first location. You definitely can’t miss this restaurant with its’ huge “BBQ” sign infront. When you enter the restaurant, the smell of BBQ filled the air and we were greeted by a friendly hostess that remembered K & A. Katie and Adam ordered some Rainier Beer, their favorite, and also makes great props for photos. We took the second half of their photos at the back patio which was filled with funky decor all around.
Two weeks after this session, Jeffy and I headed back to Government Camp. This time we decide to stop by Skybar for some good ole’ BBQ. The food there is amazing! It also came out super fast. Definitely going to be heading there everytime we’re out there so we can try everything on the menu, so if you’re ever in the area, make sure to stop by and try their famous mac and cheese. Seriously, SO BOMB!
